Born and raised in Vancouver Stefan had the good fortune to travel extensively in Europe, Asia, South Pacific and South America. This travel engendered a keen understanding of diverse cultures, and a sensitivity to the different ways people establish their sense of place. These experiences have been refined into a design philosophy that facilitates a crafting of architecture, which is both sensitive to the site and to the clients needs and lifestyle. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and Urban Geography, Stefan traveled to Europe to complete his Bachelor of Architecture in West Germany. Upon completing his studies overseas he earned his Masters Degree in Architecture at McGill University.
